When I was on my way to office yesterday, I happened to see sewage water flowing out of broken cap. Its a quite busy road as it is on the way to a hospital. The entire stretch of road smelt foul that i was not even able to breath properly. It looked like it would had been flowing since the previous evening. Such things happens very often at various places. Why not our govt can have People Care Center (similar to customer care centers in private companies) to address these kinda issues? Few people who are living in that area or passing the road would have thought to inform the concerned official to repair the broken cap but wouldn't have informed as most of them are not aware of the respective numbers. (including me). Had there been a customer care and people are well informed about it, then at least someone would have raised the complaint that evening itself and this inconvenience could have been avoided. If a customer care system is adopted to address our daily issues and followed efficiently (a herculean task ;) ) , it would make our environment a far better place than any other country. Wouldn't it be??

Something like this should be outsourced to some private vendors, but should be still under the control of the government. Say like the Onyx(i think it is onyx, the garbage collectors) in chennai.. We can expect some good service since it is handled by the private sector and since it is under the government body, public need not pay to use these services..
Nice idea doops. A good term for that as well 'People care center'! I just hope our govt comes out with something soon. Is it just me, or does everyone feel that our govt is slowly taking steps in the right direction on many issues?
When they outsource garbage collection to private, it is no harm that they can outsource this also. Only diff is it involves more money and gvt official interventions .. even if one big city implements it successfully, it wil definitely draw people's support and can be followed in other major cities .. have to wait n watch wat our gvt is gng to do in forthcoming years.. nothin else to do .. ;-)
i too feel tat our govt is slowly taking steps da ranji.. but that is further slowed down by few inefficient politicians and instable govt officials .. very tough to recover from this corrupted situation ..
